Sonia daMota was born in Azores, Portugal. She moved to Ontario, Canada at age six. Her parents provided her the love and care she needed to be successful and return the favor of compassionate care. She did not hesitate to complete the RN program in Winnipeg and became a registered nurse so she could help people in a professional medical career.
Sonia moved to the U.S. to further pursue her nursing career and serve the medical community right here in Laredo. For the past 11 years, she has been in a leadership role, which has allowed her to make a difference in her profession and within her community at large. She is a role model for everyone she cares for and everyone who works with her.
Sonia is extremely passionate about helping people and making the world a better place. It has been her life goal. She is trilingual and speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Her ability to communicate in many languages allows her to provide care on many levels. She thoroughly enjoys what she does, and could not imagine serving her community in a better way.
She is also the mother of three beautiful children, ages five, ten, and fifteen. They are her greatest treasures, and she could not be prouder. When she is not serving her community through compassionate care or volunteer work, Sonia loves to spend time outdoors and at the beach with her family.
